In 1919, a German entrepreneur Berrn Bauer bought an extremely charming site located at the end of one of the oldest streets in Sopot, Cecylienstrasse (now Józef Czyżewski Street). In the area formerly owned by the Sierakowski Court, he decided to build a year-round villa for his family ...
The building of WILLA DECO was built in 1921. The architectural style of the building is extremely interesting as it interweaves the features of the villa architecture of the early twentieth century and some modernist elements. The original functional layout of the villa was adapted to the needs of its users.
The building has three entrances from the front - a summer entrance through a wooden veranda, from the east - an entrance mainly used in the winter time and an entrance for the service and kitchen help at the back of the building.
The ground floor accommodated a living room, dining room, kitchen, and toilet. On the first floor, there was a master bedroom connected directly with a spacious bathroom and rooms for children and a babysitter. In the basement, there was a laundry room and several storage rooms for firewood and food.
